Democrats need to remind them that the Constitution gives Congress the power to override state election laws

When I was young and obnoxious, I would snidely tell people that to avoid boredom, I needed to learn something new every day. I am older now (but still obnoxious) and still in the habit of seeking new information.

Take the Constitution for instance. Nowadays, I may not be able to remember where I left my keys but I clearly recall high school Civics class. I thought that I had a pretty good grasp of the US Constitution.

Turns out my Civics teacher only glossed over the document, hitting the highlights but leaving out important details.

Former VP Mike Pence, in an op-ed in the Washington Post claims it is

And I have been nodding along in agreement this whole time because I remember that from Civics class when we learned about the Constitution. States, not the federal government, have the power to conduct elections.

Oops.

My Civics teacher was apparently distracted by his rumored romance with the school librarian and skipped right over that little detail.
