The Terror of Twisters

What living with rapid mood cycling feels like

Within my heart lies unceasing torment
Episodic despair that twists like a tornado
Shredding across my ways
No foreshadowing predicts its terror
Its cyclical madness knows no mercy
How beyond tracing out its wayward ways it is

I am a cell in a body
A line of code embedded in a program
A star among a galaxy
My anonymity is a comfort
To cover the gaze of my eyes
With the gesture and trembling of my hands,
I can readily disguise
There is no fault in my footsteps
If you would only believe
and only consider,
The truth in my lies

“What's wrong?”
They say along the crease of their brow stretching across love and suspicion
And tell me,
If I told you the genesis would it remedy the pathology?
You may as well reach for supernovas like the telescopes of astrology

I wish I would no longer carry this human trait of desire
For its doom breeds dysphoria
And when my eyes are cast upon my object of veneration
The delusion of its attaining would project my joy to the sky but seeing that its light does not reach the stratosphere
I look for another prize
Hoping its rays would touch the moon

If pain is the engine of dark arts
Then so be it
Let this vocation voyage north
I devote this immortal diesel block to the ends of the earth
O what miserable miles it traverses

If I am to withdraw I am to be lonely
If I am to socialize I am to suffocate
If I am to eat, I will be devoted to the altar of dysmorphia
If I am too fast I am to be chained to the leviathan of lethargy
So in every way, I am afflicted…
