After my first experience of receiving a certificate for completing an online course, I made this post on LinkedIn: “I hope to never assume to be an expert in anything. I want to always be hungry to…
Oia, Santorini Island
Ah — the famed rooftops of Santorini!
As colorfully diverse and many-shaped as the tourists that flood this postcard-perfect destination. Some angular and pasty, like the Scandinavians. Some unapologetically rotund and in-your-face like the Americans. Some shady and about to tumble all over themselves, like the mainland Greeks. Some bright red, like the sun-burnt Irish. If you squint and look hard enough, you might even spot some browns.
The town of Oia, which I gathered from the locals is Greek for “whoa” or “damn!” is the best place to take in the sunsets. Or better yet, to take a quick picture of the sunset and then bury your head in your phone and browse for the perfect Instagram filter. Don’t make the mistake I did — upgrade your VSCO filter app before you get there!! Go with the AV8 for that retro / filmy aesthetic!
There is absolutely no better place to get that ideal shot of throngs of strangers also looking to get that ideal shot of the unspoiled splendor of nature’s bounty.
Dekigala, Fira, Santorini Island
If the mental image of a heavily accented, generously chest-haired and skewered-meat-scent-wearing Mediterranean proprietor, whose mother did not name him Lucky, leaning over the bar counter to hand you a cold draft as he waxes philosophical about the virtues of chicken souvlakis versus pork souvlakis appeals to you, and if you happen to be in the capital town of Santorini around lunch or dinner time, then look no further than this legendary institution.
Also, the best spot on the island to be serenaded by Irish street musicians or to be hit on by sketchy white guys from the Balkans.
Menstruation is a happy thing to me. Every month, if it happens as expected, I enjoy the blood.. “Menstruation” is published by JX.
Ah Ah Ah I caught you with a small smirk right there! Saw something which was in the dusty old corner of your brain sidelined by the sea of brands coming up almost every single day? The memories of…
Oil executives are guilty of crimes against humanity. They justify this because we are complicit in the crime by continuing to use oil.
