Building A Star Trek Multiverse

Writing a totally (sort of) new Star Trek.

Like many long running collections of series (franchises), Star Trek has trouble maintaining consistency, even within one series, and especially between series. In some cases, it’s difficult to avoid inconsistencies. Star Trek ran into a major problem because it started to depict “near future” events, with writers not considering that the story might continue into those eras. It’s also difficult to predict how technology will develop, so we end up with laughably archaic “future tech.”
