Preparing for Next Semester

With enrollment for the Spring 2020 semester going on, I can’t help but try to plan out what my life is going to look like in a few months. It’s crazy how the few hours you spend selecting classes for the next semester and designing your schedule can dictate your whole life for 4.5 future months. It’s a lot of pressure.

There are so many “what-ifs” when it’s comes to choosing classes, class times, and teachers. Having a good teacher can make all the difference in the outcome of your semester, and the “Rate My Professor” reviews can only go so far as to help you pick which professor to take.

It’s even more crucial to pick the right classes and teachers as an engineering major. In engineering, almost every class is a prerequisite for the next set of classes you have to take. This makes it extra important to do well in your classes and to have a good plan of what classes to take each semester.

I’ve also been overwhelmed with planning my spring schedule around the job I will be working. I know I have to reserve a certain amount of time each week for working and that makes it difficult to pick class times that are spread out through the day. Because of this, I am limited to what teachers and classes I can take, so I am hoping for the best with the options that I have.

No matter what happens, I’m excited for next semester and for the chance to learn new things!
