Diet shmiet! Weight loss is easy!!

Years ago I read a book called, “Fit for Life” written by doctors, Harvey and Marilyn Diamond; I have since modified their healthy advice as some of it didn’t resonate with me.

Early on I tried to follow their plan as closely as I could. Bought the juicer, bought the veggie and fruits; juiced exactly as they had suggested. You couldn’t eat anything but fruit before noon, or you ate nothing.

Their reasoning made sense to me. Fruit goes through your system quickly and fires up your energy level. If you eat food before fruit, your food lays in your stomach using the energy instead, for digestion.

Then there is dairy, they discredited dairy because of what it does to our bodies. And…what does it do? It creates dis-ease. Chronic ear infections in children have been linked to dairy, according to the Diamonds.

They gave a wonderful analogy about cows in a pasture, my quote may not be exactly right. “If your thirsty and you see a cow in a pasture, do you rush to suckle on that cows tit?”

Of course not!! But if you come upon a stream or any other fresh source of water; you will drink it. POI: Humans are the only mammals on earth that still drink milk after weaning and it’s not mother’s milk it’s cows milk!! Meant for calves… Please think about that!!

My FORMULA for losing extra weight became fun and a challenge. I am delighted to admit that I lost 50 lbs and kept it off for 13 years. I modified the Doctor’s diet, I ate dairy on occasion, switched to skim milk and did some other tasteful tweaking.

Through much trial and tribulations, I discovered that I could consume what I wanted and still lose weight as long as I continued to follow “Diamond’s RULES” about proper food combining!

Weighing myself everyday at the same time in the morning proved helpful. Seeing a pound loss daily inspired me to continue with proper food combining. Some of you may prefer to see a large loss once a week.
