How does Depression affect your relationships.

Company is very important when you suffer from a mental illness. I got a little dog to help me cope with my moods. Still, th human was made in such a way that we need a partner. However, it is also kind of a stigma in relationships as it affects them quite deeply. There are a few examples of how mental health affects your relationships.

People’s patience is limited, easy to overload and it comes in very different levels. You could have a person like me who would tolerate 7 years of torture while being married. Or, on the other hand, you could have a person who blows up with every damn little thing.

People’s ignorance is a key factor in relationahips. You will ALWAYS find that one person that tells you “why are u always sad?” Or like my father said to me “ you should find a natural replacement for your medicines" is there a natural medicine like Lithium? I haven’t heard of that. Ignorance plays a huge role in relationships. You don’t want someone that will make you feel worse when you have a mania episode right?

A person that struggles with mental illness is hard to understand, to deal with, to live with. Not everyone is cut to be successful at this. Yet, I applaud them because even though is not their problem, they are there for you when needed.

So, surround yourself with positivity,, with people cut to deal with you. It’s quite hard to do so. But, don’t worry. I believe in you.
